Golf Diary – May 30, 2023

It was a stellar evening for league night with Iron Lady Golf at Royal Woodbine Golf Club. Despite a late work day and heavy traffic on the 401, I managed to arrive early and grab a bite to eat at the first hole.

This week felt way better than my first 9 of the season two weeks ago. Hit lots of great drives and made some good course management decisions. I didn’t give up on my game on the Twitter advice of Jon Sherman @practicalgolf.

I had some good shots with my pitching wedge but was not finding any consistency with any club. I lost three of my pretty pink balls – none in the water! I hit a really great 7 wood on 6 which took me over the water and into the sand bunker just off the green.

I had a beautiful drive on 8, landed a few feet past the end of the fairway in the rough, (see picture below) and then had a very unfortunate second shot – cringy photo below!

Very happy over all this week. Felt calm and focused and had lots of fun.

Beautiful drive on 8!
The very unfortunate second shot on 8.
Always fun with an amazing foursome.
