It was a beautiful day for golf and I was so excited to play after our rain out last week. I selected some of my favourite golf clothes and put together a super fun outfit. Have you figured out yet why I am spending to much time on fashion?
I’ll tell you why – it’s because my game was terrible!! What happened? I completely forgot how to play. It was like I never swung a club in my life! Despite this beautiful course, beautify day, awesome golf friends and cute outfit, my playing was a disaster.
Even the shots that normally save me were not there for me today, although I can’t complain too much about my putting. Incredibly, even my misses were inconsistent. I was topping the ball, shanking it, hitting the ground, slicing and I might have invented a few new bad shots. I don’t think I whiffed so that was a small mercy (although I could have just blocked out that trauma). I could not figure out what the heck was happening but deep in my heart I knew the golf gods would show up.
Low and behold, on our last hole, 4 on the front nine (we had a shotgun start because of a tournament at the course and started on 14), the golf gods appeared. I had an asterisks par on the hole (ie. if you don’t count my second shot that went into the pond which I retook with no penalty 🙂 ).
I have a lesson coming up at the end of the week and the poor Pro is going to have his work cut out for him!
BUT did we have fun? You already know the answer to that.
Better luck next week after some coaching. I’m going to file this one under fashion.
